Identify and examine evidence-based practices as they relate to a nursing intervention.

Purpose and Descriiption
The purpose of this assignment is to identify and examine evidence-based practices as they relate to a nursing intervention. Students can select a nursing intervention or one component of the nursing process related to the intervention. Using only the health information resources below, find two recent articles (less than 5 years old) to support your descriiption about the intervention as well as one (or, better, two) evidence-based practice guideline(s) on the subject.

If you cannot find an evidence-based practice guideline for the intervention, state that in your paper and search for a systematic literature review, best practices document, literature review, or general guideline instead.

Directions
Write a 500- to 825-word scholarly paper (2 to 3 pages, not including the title and reference pages) that contains the following:

Introduction. Provide a brief introduction including a descriiption of a nursing intervention or component of the nursing process related to the intervention (assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, or implementation).

Literature Review to Support Your Introduction. Use a NJ State Library search interface such as OVID, Proquest, or EBSCOhost to identify at least two articles to support your descriiption about the purpose and potential risks of the intervention. Use the references identified below to support your introduction.
Evidence-Based Practice. Use a NJ State Library search interface such as OVID, Proquest, or EBSCOhost and/or one of the following:

The Guidelines International Network
The Registered Nurses’ Association of Ontario
The Cochrane Library
U.S. Preventive Services Task Force
Describe the results of your literature search for evidence to support the nursing intervention or a component of the nursing process related to the intervention. (See “Purpose and Descriiption” above.)
Conclusion. Summarize your clinical practice observations related to the nursing intervention or component related to it, as well as your observations from the general and evidence-based practice literature. Identify similarities, differences, and components that need further research.
Please consult Chapters 2, 3, 4, and 5 of the Publication Manual of the American Psychological Association for formatting guidance. Use Chapters 6 and 8 of the APA manual for guidance in writing style and mechanics.
