Unit: MSc Advanced aspects of Neuroscience A report in the format of a lab report on experimental data obtained in the stroop test practical conducted, including a proposal for future experiments that could be conducted. This assignment will assess the following unit learning outcomes (LO) LO1: Explain advanced aspects of nervous system function and how these become pathophysiological in a selection of neurological conditions. LO3: Make independent judgements to plan an experimental means by which a current problem may be investigated, and present and justify these choices, using a range of media. A short lab report in the style of a scientific paper based on the stroop test data/ practical in excel document. This must include the formatting of a neuroscience journal, such as the Journal of Neuroscience (http://www.jneurosci.org/content/information-authors). The discussion must consider the strengths and limitations of the experiment and results must include data analysis. There must be a proposal for what other experiments you would conduct, most likely in the form of a future experiments section. Submissions must contain a cover page with details such as word count and which journal was used for formatting present. The report should include but may not be limited to the following content:• An introduction on the neuroscience topic of the stroop data selected to analyze.• A Methods section detailing the main aspects of the experiment.• A results section and accompanying data analysis describing the results.• Discussion of the results including strengths and weaknesses of the experiment.• A Future experiments section where you propose other experiments that could be done.• A reference list (not included in the word limit). You will choose from data obtained from one of the eligible practicals conducted during this unit, for example, peripheral nerve conduction. Your introduction will include the background on that area of neuroscience including primary literature sources. Methods will provide detail on how the experiment was conducted and ethical considerations of the study.Your results section will describe the data analysis you did on the data, including statistics and quantification methods. The report MUST CONTAIN A MINIMUM FOR 2 FIGURES (results figures).Your discussion should discuss your results in context of the area of neuroscience you chose and the strengths and weaknesses of the study. There must be a proposal of future experiments to be conducted.Include some figures for context aswell. Ensure to link back to pathophysiological conditions in neurophysiology. Please cite and provide references using the Cite Them Right Harvard referencing style. A 2000 ± 10% word limit, scientific style lab report submitted as a word document or PDF. Submissions should include an introduction, methods, figures, results, discussion, future experiments section, conclusion and references section with correct citations throughout in the style of a neuroscience journal NOTE: Data was collected from volunteer class participants. Details regarding their health status was not asked for. Please ensure to obtain a mark of 80%>.
